Communications & Marketing Manager (previously Partnerships)

5 years

Led communication and marketing work for 5 years at the Climate Bonds Initiative. I worked within a global stakeholder environment spanning institutional investors, banks, bond issuers, governments, regulators, development-finance institutions and technical climate experts. The organisation operates at the intersection of climate science, policy and international capital markets. I translated complex technical information and market intelligence into various formats, tailored to engage different audiences and support the flow of investment towards credible climate solutions.

African Climate and Development Initiative, University of Cape Town

Communications, audience mapping and policy-impact research

Multi-year role

I worked across the Research and Networking portfolios at the African Climate and Development Initiative, a flagship interdisciplinary climate and development initiative at the University of Cape Town. I supported research projects from concept development and proposal writing through to coordination, reporting and stakeholder engagement. I also contributed to initiatives designed to strengthen the relevance and impact of climate research through collaboration and knowledge co-production, and supported the development of communication materials, high-level meetings, events and stakeholder workshops. The role involved working across academics, practitioners and policymakers to help connect research with practical climate and development priorities across Africa.

Early career

I supported work spanning climate adaptation, stakeholder engagement and applied climate science. I contributed to the development of climate services and tools designed to translate complex climate information into practical insights for decision-makers. The role gave me early experience working at the intersection of scientific research, communication and real-world climate adaptation needs.
